WHAT IS A CROWN?

What is a crown?

Crowns, or caps, are restorations that cover over and encase the tooth on which
they are cemented. Dentists utilise crowns when rebuilding broken or heavily
decayed teeth, as a way to strengthen them, and a method by which the
cosmetic appearance of a tooth can be improved.

A bridge is used where you have a gap. Specially fabricated artificial teeth
fill the gap and are joined to the caps on either side forming a “bridge”.
A bridge frequently needs to be made from stronger materials than a crown.

A Matchmaker crown offers excellent strength properties and is available in
a wide choice of shades to match existing teeth.

Why choose to have dental crowns or a bridge?

They serve two important functions:

1. They restore the appearance of your teeth and your face. If your tooth
is severely decayed or cracked, the dentist will need to restore it prior
to preparing a crown. Teeth also support the muscles in our faces, so
anything less than a full tooth may affect the way you look.

2. A crown will be the same size and shape as the natural tooth. As a
result, it will keep your jaw and bite aligned; it will also make sure that
other teeth don't move or take on a greater share of the work of biting and
chewing.

Matchmaker produces quality crowns and bridges that sparkle with vitality
and natural fluorescence for a more natural look.
